What we do

In March 2011, on the initiative of people associated with the dental market, the “With a smile through life” Foundation was established to help in the fight against oral cancer.

The Foundation is dedicated to oral cancer prevention, spreading knowledge about this cancer among dentists, hygienists and patients, following the principle that prevention is better than cure.

The main objectives of the Foundation are:

  • Spreading knowledge and information about cancer, in particular about oral cancer,
    its risk factors and consequences
  • Highlighting the importance of the dentist’s role as a practitioner involved in cancer prevention.
  • Promoting healthy lifestyles to reduce suffering and save lives through prevention, education, research, advocacy and patient support activities.

To achieve our goals, we undertake a number of exciting and highly relevant activities. Among other things, we perform the following:

  • Publish information about oral cancer, its causes and opportunities for early diagnosis of premalignant conditions in the specialty and national press.
  • Maintain a website where we seek to provide a forum for the presentation of knowledge and experience about the causes and detection options for oral cancer.
  • We conduct, all over Poland, the Open Days at the Dentist’s Office. During our campaign, we provide patients with free dental exams and oral cancer screenings.
  • We actively participate in the celebration of World Oral Health Day on March 20, we conduct preventive actions during the largest Dental Fair
  • We actively cooperate with students from the Polish Dental Students’ Association.
  • We organized a series of lectures that covered cancer prevention, oral cancer treatment, screening, care and communication with the oncology patient. During the lectures, we also presented modern methods of early detection of oral cancer.
